Cyberbullying includes sending hateful messages or even death threats to children, spreading lies about them online, making nasty comments on their social networking profiles, or creating a website to bash their looks or reputation.

Prevention: Do not share Internet passwords with anyone other than parents. Also on most sites there is a block or ban feature to block the bully. If the harassment continues, delete the old account and create a new one.

  9. Sexual Predators

Danger: It's easy now a days for children to meet anyone, from anywhere, at anytime. And with the freedom, comes dangers. Sexual predators will always seek out children wherever they are, whether it be a chatroom, or Myspace. They'll do anything to make thi child feel like they've obtained a new best friend, and will even fake interests to do so.

Prevention: Discuss with a child what social websites they use. Tell them about giving away specific information to anyone they've met online, including pictures. Use privacy settings and talk with the child. Make them aware of the dangers and the fact that people online aren't always who they say they are. Keep the computer in a place where you can supervise the use of the computer while a child is on it. And lastly, make sure the child knows to contact and warn any adult if they feel threatened.

Prevention: There are some very easy ways to prevent this by putting locks on certain websites and putting age verification on some of them too.

Don't give out information about your gae or where you live over the internet. As a general rule do not talk with people you meet in chat rooms. Parents can also enforce this by installing software which can limit what web sites their children can visit.
